Horchata

Here comes a feeling you thought you'd forgotten
Chairs to sit and sidewalks to walk on
Oh you had it but oh no you lost it
Lookin back you shouldn't have fought it

Banshee Beat

A very old friend of mine once said
that either way you look at it you have your fits
I have my fits but feeling is good
confusions not a kiddney stone in my brain
but if we're miscommunicating do we feel the same?
Then either way you look at it you have your fits
I have my fits but feeling is good

Influences

Out of many influential figures in my life, Paul McCartney and John Lennon shaped my views on music. Together the two (along with George and Ringo) created amazing music that never seems to get old. Even after 40+ years since the release of their albums they still retain all the excitement I first experienced when introduced to their sound. The Beatles have influenced me to be more creative, provided a better understand of love, loss, social awareness, my self and of course fashion :)

And in the end
the love you take
is equal to the love you make

All I Need

I am the next act waiting in the wings
I am an animal trapped in your hot car
I am all the days that you choose to ignore

You are all I need
I am in the middle of your picture
Lying in the reeds

I am a moth who just wants to share your light
I'm just an insect trying to get out of the night
I only stick with you because there are no others

You are all I need
I am in the middle of your picture
Lying in the reeds

It's all wrong
It's all right
It's all right
It's all wrong

City Lights

The story of a poor little man, the tramp, who falls in love with a blind flower girl. He becomes friends with a wealthy man who constantly tries to commit suicide. The man only recognizes the tramp character when he is drunk. To impress the flower girl the tramp uses the man's wealth to make her fall in love with him. The only problem is that when the man is sober he doesn't recognize the tramp anymore. On top of this the flower girl has to pay 22 dollars of rent or she will be thrown out of her apartment. Now the tramp desperately seeks for jobs in the city to help his love pay her rent and receive an operation that will allow her to see.

Final scene of City Lights where the once blind flower girl recognizes the tramp (her benefactor whom she supposes to be rich and handsome) by touching his hands

Racism Meets The Eye or Revenge of the FUBU

So I was watching Transformers 2 a few weeks ago and was forewarned of the blatant racism used for two of the B-Side characters. Hmmm, could the B possible stand for Black Transformers? The filmed portrayed these two "advanced" alien beings as "ghetto, illiterate, clumsy and basically attempted to play it off as the comic relief for the film.

It was pretty horrible. At one point as the crew is trying to decipher an ancient alien dialect which none of the humans can read they decide to ask who? You guessed it! The two bumbling, "urban" Autobots, Skid & Mudflap (do these names conjur positive images). What is their reply you ask? Well, they weren't exactly sure how to interpret the ancient language because they "don't do much readin'".

WHAT!?!

I can't wait for the 3rd installment of this film. I only pray Vatobot will be cruizin' in a classic low-rider with an aztec painting on the hood.

Elephant Gun

If I was young, I'd flee this town
I'd bury my dreams underground
Let the seasons begin, it rolls right on
And it rips through our camp at night
And it rips through the silence, all that is left is all that I hide

I Never Want This To Pass

I made it out in darkness and the sun rose over the desert
I could have gone forever with just me, gas, states and kodak
Everything was string-less like it's debtless and between jobs
I don't ever want this to pass I want to get that feeling back
To escape somehow find that way out
Crossed over the line and into places I have not been
I never felt so welcome with just me and not a single contact
Everything was silent like the fake still air in a snowfall
I don't ever want this to pass

When I was very young and the urge to be someplace else was on me,
I was assured by mature people that maturity would cure this itch.
When years described me as mature,
the remedy prescribed was middle age.
In middle age I was assured that greater age would calm my fever
now that I am fifty-eight perhaps senility will do the job.
Nothing has worked.
